Frequently asked questions

A few common questions about playing Wovan.

What is Wovan? How is it different from regular fantasy football?

Wovan is fantasy football built around playing together. Instead of setting your lineup alone, you work with your team each week to compete against another team. You can earn extra points through weekly awards and bonus bets (points, not money). The goal is to turn fantasy football from something you do by yourself into something you do with family and friends.

Is there a draft? How do I pick my players?

There is no traditional draft. Each week, the two teams that are matched up get a unique set of players to choose from. The available players change week to week to keep things interesting. Not every player will be available every week.

How does scoring work?

Your players earn points using standard fantasy scoring. You can earn extra points through teamwork, weekly awards, and bonus bets.

How does the lineup get set?

Each week, two people are named captains. Captains are responsible for setting the lineup. They can give others on the team permission to help.

What if the captain is inactive?

If a captain hasn't set any players by Friday morning, everyone on the team gets permission to manage the lineup. Any spots still empty on Sunday morning will be filled with the best player available.

How do the playoffs work?

Playoffs start in Week 13 with a knockout bracket. The 6th-place team plays the 5th-place team. The winner moves on to face 4th place the next week, and so on. The championship is in Week 16, the knockout survivor faces the regular-season leader for the title.

What are the chat rules?
